What's the quickest way to help someone heal? If you ask us here at Bice's Flowers, we say a pretty arrangement of fresh blooms. And research supports our thinking: a 2008 study conducted by the American Society for Horticultural Science showed that hospital patients that had flowers or potted plants in their rooms used less pain medication and had lower blood pressure. A researcher at Rutgers found that when someone receives flowers, their happiness over it lasts several days, and contact with friends and family is increased in the exchange of flowers. Bice's Florist is feeling inspired by the season - especially its imagery of bare branches laden with snow. While we don't really get to enjoy the prettiest of precipitations here in Fort Worth, we can bring its palette into our home in the form of flowers.
We're loving the cream-colored, dreamy designs on offer when it comes to winter blooms. We see them packed with greens and other organic seasonal items like berries and pine cones. The contrast is beautiful and full of dimension. Add a hint of lavender or blue here and there, and you've got a floral arrangement that could stop traffic. Read More about Winter’s Silvery Blooms »

Ever heard of Julklapp? What about Amigo Secreto or Wichteln? Kris Kindle?
Maybe not, but we at Bice's Florist are betting you've definitely heard of the U.S. version of all of the above, Secret Santa. For the unaccustomed, this is a group gift swap where names are typically drawn out of a hat to pair up a gift giver and a recipient. The recipient won't know who the giver is; unless, of course, the giver spills it. Read More about Play Santa With Flowers »

One of the best ways to introduce some holiday cheer to your workplace is right at the front door. You may line the steps with poinsettias or hang lights throughout the entry area. Whatever your approach, your seasonal decor announces that your business welcomes the holidays as much as it does its clients and customers, coworkers and employees. In our view here at Bice's Florist, the best way to achieve that warm and welcoming holiday vibe is with a cheerful wreath or two. Read More about Adorn Your Office With Holiday Wreaths »

What better way to capture the spirit of Thanksgiving than through flowers? And if those flowers are placed at the heart of your table? We at Bice's Florist say you've just won Thanksgiving.
The floral centerpiece is almost as old as the cornucopia, and just as beloved. If you're hosting Thanksgiving this year, consider what you'll put at the center of the table, and make it good. There's nothing quite like flowers for capturing the essence of what Thanksgiving is about - gathered family and friends, a celebration of the harvest and a gracious spirit. AutumnThanksgiving
In the U.S. and across the globe, it's customary to provide a host or hostess with a gift in thanks. Especially when that event is an elaborate effort, like Thanksgiving. Ideally, we offer flowers, fruit baskets, or other food gifts, all of which we at Bice's Florist can help you select. But when it comes to flowers, there are a few important considerations. It's traditional to offer them in a vase, for one. The flowers should be accommodating in both color scheme and type. Since we often don't know our host's exact tastes, it's best to choose something that is an all-around crowd-pleaser. Read More about Fine Florals for Your Host »

America The Beautiful
Long ago, in 1926, President Calvin Coolidge was asked to officially declare that on November 11, Americans would celebrate "Armistice Day." A way to commemorate the end of WWI - which had ended on the same day in 1918 - the U.S. would join Canada, Australia and Great Britain in celebrating armistice. Eventually, Armistice Day evolved into Veterans Day, with its own flag, own rituals and slightly different angle; instead of commemorating the end of WWI, we now honor all retired and active military who have served. We have parades, festivals, marches and 5K runs, and thanks to Bice's Florist, we have rustic arrangements to send our vets, too. Read More about Rustic Arrangements for Veterans Day »
