Receiving roses usually marks a special occasion that should not be forgotten quickly. When you want to remember a significant event, keeping your roses fresh for as long as possible is a great way to do this. Bice’s Florist has some excellent tips for maintaining roses’ beauty and fragrance.
When you receive a sweet arrangement like our Pink Lemonade Roses, make them long-lasting with these simple tricks:
- Remove all foliage that will be below the water line in the vase.
- Cut one inch from stems for best water absorption.
- Create a homemade preservative. One of our favorites includes:
Two tablespoons white vinegar
Two teaspoons sugar
One-half teaspoon bleach
One quart warm water
- Arrange roses in this solution, then watch water level, changing every few days or whenever water becomes cloudy. Don’t forget to rinse the stems, too!
Taking care of your cut roses will keep them as fresh and vibrant as the day you received them. The floral experts at Bice’s Florist understand how important it is to maintain a beautiful expression of love for as long as possible.
