Flowers & Gifts for Grandparents Day

Grandparents Day Whether you call them Nana, Gramps, Papa, or Mimi – there is no denying that grandparents capture a special place in our heart. September 10 is Grandparents Day, which gives you the ideal opportunity to express your gratitude and affection.

Marian McQuade is the mother and grandmother behind Grandparents Day, a time set aside to not only recognize the older generation for all they do and contribute, but to encourage the sharing of stories, wisdom, and family history.  Ms. McQuade envisioned families gathering, holding reunions, and even volunteering or participating in community events together. The goal of the day? To foster strong family ties and create an ongoing legacy. At Bice’s Florist, we think that is a fantastic vision to celebrate.
Gifts from Grandma & Grandpa: While they have always been known to give the grandkids a little spare change, it seems contemporary grandparents are taking their spoiling seriously. Approximately $52 billion will be expended annually on the grandchildren, and $32 billion will be contributed by grandparents to help pay for education costs.
Grandparents Day

The role of the grandparent has evolved over the decades, but one thing is a constant – 90% of grandparents report that the role is the most fulfilling and joyful one they have ever taken on.The arrival of a grandchild seems to have a positive effect through the entire family as well – not only do grandparents and grandchildren bond in a special way, but studies prove that the event often vastly improves the relationship with their adult children as well.

Bice’s Florist appreciates any opportunity to draw people closer together. If you are looking to celebrate your grandparents on this special day, give us a call or shop our online collection.  If your grandparents live locally here in Fort Worth, be sure to spend some time with them – but don’t forget the flowers!
