Where Being LOCAL Really Matters!

When You Treat Yourself To Flowers, Here’s What Happens

At Bice's Florist, we're huge advocates of the idea of flowers as self-care. They are as vitally important to your well being, if not more, as getting a massage or treating yourself to a pedicure. Flowers have been proven to improve cognition, memory and mood. For a hospital patient, they do everything from reduce blood pressure to decrease the amount of medication a patient uses. They invite us to pause, embrace the moment and connect to nature. Read More about When You Treat Yourself To Flowers, Here’s What Happens »

When Flowers Become Lasting Memories

When don't flowers matter? The truth is, they always do. Whether expected or unexpected, delivered ahead of an occasion, on the day of or just after, a flower gift becomes its own event. But there are some occasions in which it really means something to offer a gift of fresh blooms---to your daughter upon college graduation, for instance. To your wife after the birth of your first child. And it's equally meaningful to receive them on some occasions more than others. Think of the corsage you wore at prom, the flowers you watched your father give your mom on Valentine's Day, the first bouquet you accepted from the love of your life. Bice's Florist knows that some flowers simply matter more than others. Read More about When Flowers Become Lasting Memories »

Flowers That Showcase Pantone’s Color Of The Year

We here at Bice's Florist are excited to work with Pantone's 2018 Color Of The Year, Ultra Violet, an intriguing choice. If you didn't already know, color company Pantone convenes every year at a new international location, bringing the best minds on color together to select one emblematic shade. The idea is that the color chosen really captures the spirit of the times and possibly makes a projection about the year ahead. Ultra Violet, a majestic, cosmic shade, is meant to say a lot about who we are now and where we're going. Read More about Flowers That Showcase Pantone’s Color Of The Year »

Rustic Arrangements for Veterans Day

America The Beautiful Long ago, in 1926, President Calvin Coolidge was asked to officially declare that on November 11, Americans would celebrate "Armistice Day." A way to commemorate the end of WWI - which had ended on the same day in 1918 - the U.S. would join Canada, Australia and Great Britain in celebrating armistice. Eventually, Armistice Day evolved into Veterans Day, with its own flag, own rituals and slightly different angle; instead of commemorating the end of WWI, we now honor all retired and active military who have served. We have parades, festivals, marches and 5K runs, and thanks to Bice's Florist, we have rustic arrangements to send our vets, too. Read More about Rustic Arrangements for Veterans Day »
