KTVT-TV News This Morning at 6 hosts Doug Dunbar and Shannon Hori will mix and meet with Bice’s customers in observance of FTD Good Neighbor Day
Hurst, Tex, Sept. 5, 2006 – “News This Morning at 6” hosts Shannon Hori and Dunbar will broadcast remote from Bice’s Florist, 650 Bedford Euless Road, Hurst, Wed., Sept. 6 as part of the national FTD Florist Good Neighbor Day observance.
When news staffers at the Fort Worth/Dallas CBS TV affiliate saw a Bice’s Florist announcement last week about the event they thought it would be a good opportunity to join in the spirit of the day and get to know some of their viewers better.
Bice’s Florist owners David McLamb and Keith Riewe agreed, and invited the news team to be part of the 11th annual national celebration developed to promote community goodwill and awareness of giving flowers as gifts.
At Bice’s Florist locations at 650 Bedford Euless Road and 3811 Colleyville Blvd., visitors will receive a dozen roses free of charge, while supplies last. Bice’s asks that, in the spirit of the event, recipients keep one rose for themselves and give single roses to 11 other people to spread goodwill through the community.
McLamb and Riewe say Good Neighbor Day has been an extremely popular event for Bice’s. “How can you go wrong when you give someone a red rose, completely out of the blue?” McLamb said. “That person’s whole day is bound to be better.”
